Global Education Leadership

Struggling for inclusion: educational leadership in a neoliberal world, by James Ryan (2012)

Ryan is a now retired OISE professor with research interests in educational leadership and inclusion.

This book presents the results of original empirical studies, qualitative interview analyses, theoretical frameworks, and personal experiences about the struggles for administration as they bring inclusion to their schools. The writing is very accessible and does not require a background in academics or these theoretical frameworks. The book is directed as a group of lessons learned for administrators who want to make inclusion a commitment.

All the administrators involved in his study work at various schools in Canada, however, the lessons learned from them can be applied anywhere.
